Locothology 2013

Check out this great anthology for my story, Soul Pirates and many more great tales!

Pirates, Pirates, Everywhere Pirates. Not your everyday Hook and Peter Pan. This year's LocoThology pays homage to that ever mysterious, swashbuckling, sometimes hero, yet more often villain, the Pirate. Follow the adventure and explore piracy in its varied form. Chase away soul stealing pirates, find a stolen pirate map, and prove that girls really can be pirates too. Fight against manuscript piracy with the help of a vampire, and live or die with the regrets of a lifetime of corporate raiding. Then, attend an unhappy birthday party before retiring to fight aliens and pirates in space.

Urban Green Man

My story Purple Vine Flowers is included in the Fire section of this fabulous anthology.

The Green Man has haunted our churches and buildings and global subconscious for countless generations, becoming just another forgotten mythology that is relegated to garden statuary and English pub signs. No longer. Witness as the Green Man rises to capture our imagination in this anthology of original new fiction, the Urban Green Man. This simple image of a green foliated, disgorging face represents a relevant need in today's world to cultivate a more harmonious and sustainable relationship with Nature. Carl Jung offered a theory of compensation regarding our myths, that an archetype will reappear in a new form to redress imbalances in society at a particular time when it is needed. Perhaps the Green Man is rising up into our present awareness just when we need him most.

EVOLVE: Vampire Stories of the New Undead

Vampires have Evolved and They are Here!

Kelley Armstrong, Tanya Huff and twenty-two other Canadian dark fantasy and horror writers re-imagine the future of vampires in this new collection of all-original short fiction. One of the most unusual and original vampire anthologies ever compiled.

"The intriguing Vampires appearing in Evolve all share a common link to the iconic character Dracula." -- Dacre Stoker

This was my first publication and still one of my favourite stories. Don't miss this anthology and check out my story, Mama's Boy.

Evolve Two: Vampire Stories of the Future Undead

Edited by Nancy Kilpatrick

I'm honoured to have a story in the follow up to Evolve, called Outwitted.

Vampires: friend or foe? Either way, time is on their side, and they are more powerful than ever before! Meet the eternal predator that humanity never ceases to find both fascinating and terrifying. Evolve Two: Vampire Stories of the Future Undead moves this creature beyond 2012, through this century and into the next. We humans will evolve, but so will they! Whatever apocalyptic events that lie ahead for our species, for the planet, Vampires will be there too, helping or hindering, effecting or infecting us. Time is on their side, but it may not be on ours. They are vampires, and more powerful than ever before!
