My Writing
I wrote my first full length book when I was nine years old. In university I earned my degree in English and Drama, while also becoming certified as an aerobic instructor and personal trainer. My life since then has revolved around competing in fitness competitions. While the training and competitions take up a great deal of time I always wanted to get back to my writing. I began writing again seriously at the end of 2008, and have sold my first short story and finished the fourth draft of an urban fantasy novel. I hope that if I can stand up infront of judges and audiences in a teeny tiny bikini and jump around doing fitness routines, I can handle the ups and downs of the publishing world. I'm sure my years competing have prepared me. I am used to discipline, I am used to deadlines, I am used to being judged by official judges as well as fans. This is my leap into the world of writing and I'm hopeful for great things in the fugure.
Thank you for your support!
IFBB Fitness Pro
I started weight training in the off season for track and field and immediately fell in love with building my body. In university I earned my degree in English and Drama, while also becoming certified as an aerobic instructor and personal trainer.

I worked in our university
gym, and I looked up to women like Cory Everson and Anja Schriner. Someone at the gym told me
I should enter a fitness competition, but I hadn't really seen or heard of them before. After
university I went to live in Whistler, BC and spent much of my time working in a gym, working out
and snowboarding. I thought about entering a provincial competition, but just didn't have the support
and guidance that I needed. I went backpacking overseas to New Zealand and Australia, and stayed in
Brisbane, training at a gym there. The owner of the gym suggested I do a competition. He said, there's a
competition in 5 weeks, if you start training right now, you could do it. So I did! And I loved it!
I placed second, losing by only one point to a local! When I returned to Canada, I just had to
keep with it, so I entered the Gators Island Classic and won! I really have not stopped since!
The girls keep getting better, the competitions keep growing, and now I am helping other girls
get into the sport. When I started, there wasn't really anyone you could turn to for help and
advice because the sport was so new. Now there are many veterans out there getting more girls involved
every day. I plan to keep competing, and improving, and learning as much as I can!
I have been training women
to compete for four years now, helping many women reach their dreams of competing on stage.
Trainer
I have been training girls to compete since 2000, and have had over 70 individual women hit the stage, including 6 top three placings at the National level, and a pro card win with Jeni Briscoe. I have clients in BC, other parts of Canada, and the USA. My personal training began back in 1995, when I became certified as an aerobics instructor and personal trainer. I taught classes for seven years and began training people right away. I worked at a women's only gym for several years training there, then moved on to do my own independant training. I'd been training people since 1995, taking the required courses for certification etc, but my learning curve didn't really spike until I started competing myself. The knowledge I've gained over the years training myself as well as others to get on stage at the ultimate best has been the best education in what it takes to redefine your physique.
